Toxins

Toxins such as Botox® and Dysport® work by relaxing crease causing muscle contractions, creating softer lines and smoother skin. The goal of toxin use is to improve lines and wrinkles, while maintaining a natural look. Common areas to correct include the frown lines (the 11’s) and the crow’s feet area, however, toxins can also be very effectively used to treat other problem areas. By specifically targeting certain muscles, Botox can be used to improve lip lines (smoker lines), a gummy smile, TMJ/teeth grinding, and creasing on the nose. After the treatment, it can take up to 14 days for final results that typically last for 3-4 months. Toxins are often combined with fillers to achieve a patient’s aesthetic goal.

Fillers

Fillers are injected into areas where volume has been lost or where more volume is desired. We use fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane and Sculptra to augment the cheeks, reduce wrinkles, enhance lips and give patients a natural, more youthful appearance. The results from the hyaluronic acid based fillers, such as Restylane and Juvederm family of products, are almost immediate and improves over time. The results can last 6-9 months depending on the product used. Sculptra is a filler used to stimulate your own body’s collagen production and thus takes a few months to become visible, but, has the great advantage of lasting up to 2 years. After a thorough consultation, a treatment plan will be developed to get you to your aesthetic goal.

Kybella®

KYBELLA® is the only FDA-approved injectable treatment used in adults to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat), also called “double chin.”  The active ingredient, deoxycholic acid, is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that when injected under the skin, can break apart fat cells. Through its mechanism of action, Kybella has the added benefit of also tightening the skin in the area being treated. Once the desired results are achieved, retreatment is not usually necessary. Depending on the size of the area treated, 2 or more sessions may be needed. It may take 4-6 weeks to see the final results of the treatment.

Fractional Laser Resurfacing

Using patented fractional technology, light is delivered as an array of small beams deep into the skin. This initiates a restorative, natural healing process that creates new collagen, resulting in an improved skin appearance. This technology is useful for the treatment of fine wrinkles, acne scars, traumatic scars, and stretch marks. Fractional laser resurfacing plays an essential role in non-surgical facial rejuvenation (along with Botox, dermal fillers, and “photofacial” treatments). Generally, 3-6 treatments are required to achieve maximal benefit. Patients can expect about 48 hours of redness and swelling after treatments.

Permanent Hair Reduction

Laser hair removal offers permanent hair reduction and is achieved when the cells responsible for growing new hair are eliminated. We can use specific wavelengths to target both finer and coarser hair on all skin types. We can treat large areas (i.e. back, chest, legs) as well as smaller areas (underarms and bikini lines). If you want to stop shaving, waxing, or tweezing, or want to stop razor bumps or ingrown hairs, laser hair removal is the treatment for you. An average of 6-8 sessions are typically recommended, depending on the location being treated. Touch up treatments are recommended every 1-2 years to keep the hair away. Laser hair removal is ALWAYS performed by a physician in our office, and not a technician.

Photofacials

Our photorejuvenation process can remove the signs of years of sun damage. This treatment targets brown spots, redness and superficial blood vessels. Photorejuvenation is effective on the face, arms, chest, and other large body areas. This treatment can also help the background redness brought on by rosacea. 1-3 sessions are typically recommended.  This treatment is best done when you have not been and will not be in the sun for at least 4 weeks.

Microneedling/PRP

The Dermapen uses a sterile micro-needle tip to create controlled micro-channels in the skin. This initiates the skin’s repair process to naturally produce collagen, ideal for decreasing the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, scars and stretch marks. The micro-channels also allow for optimal absorption of topical products, most importantly Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), to enhance results. PRP is a concentration of platelets and growth factors found in the blood stream. To harness the reparative and regenerative power of PRP, a small blood sample is taken from your own body and centrifuged. The PRP, a clear golden liquid, is then extracted, applied topically and immediately followed by a micro-needling procedure. The micro-channels created by the Dermapen provide direct pathways to the deeper layers of skin allowing the PRP to expedite wound healing and further stimulate production of collagen. Microneedling with PRP is an ideal, natural treatment for smoothing wrinkles, fine line, and scars.

Injections of PRP into the scalp can also be used to stimulate hair regrowth in people with male or female pattern hairloss.

Alpha Hydroxy Acid Peels

Chemical exfoliation can be used to improve skin discoloration, unevenness and  dullness. After regular treatments, it can reduce the appearance of fine lines, improve the appearance of scars, diminish dark marks and smooth skin texture. The procedure involves applying a chemical solution that causes the top layers of the skin to exfoliate, allowing newer, revitalized skin to emerge. A peeling agent is chosen based on the specific skin condition being addressed, your skin type and the goals of treatment. You can expect to feel some warmth and mild stinging during the procedure. Some flaking or peeling can be expected a few days after the procedure depending on the strength of the peel used. Peels are typically recommended every 4-6 weeks and then once a season for maintenance.

Aquagold Fine Touch

Aquagold is a revolutionary microneedling device that contains 24 karat gold needles that are each smaller than a hair follicle. This microchanneling treatment delivers products such as platelet-rich-plasma (PRP), dermal fillers, retinol, antioxidants and baby botox directly into the skin. Depending on the patient’s concerns and desired results, we are able to fully customize and deliver, virtually painlessly and with almost no downtime, the microchanneled solution.

Aquagold is a versatile tool that can be used to treat a variety of cosmetic concerns including reducing fine lines and wrinkles, reducing the appearance of acne scarring, decreasing facial redness, diminishing large pore size, enhancing skin hydration, reducing pigmentation, reducing sebum production in oily skin and T zones, and rejuvenating the face, around the eyes, neck, décolletage and hands.

  • PRP is the primary ingredient in the treatment and helps to stimulate collagen production, improve skin tone and texture, provide skin hydration and smooth fine lines. The following can also be added to maximize results:
  • Microtox:  small amounts of botulinum toxin (Botox/Dysport/Jeuveau) at the surface of the skin, where it is not near a muscle, improves the size of pores and decreases redness over time (very popular!).
  • Hyaluronic acid: Hyaluronic acid is what makes up the extracellular space between the cells. It is the primary ingredient in most facial fillers (Restylane/Juvederm/Belotero) and when added to the solution, can give the skin a more hydrated, plumped and healthy glow. This is helpful for acne scars as well.
  • Vitamins B and C: these are antioxidants that help to prevent free radical damage and brighten skin tone
  • Bleaching agents: bleaching agents such as hydroquinone can be added to improve brown spots and uneven skin tone

*Results are typically seen about 7-14 days after the procedure. Depending on your desired goals and products used, repeat treatments are typically recommended every 6- 12 weeks. Results will continue to improve with maintenance sessions throughout the year.

*Post-treatment care: We recommend waiting to wash your face until 4 hours after treatment. Avoid use of retinoid/retinol and antioxidant products for 48 hours and avoid make-up for 24 hours post- treatment
